Orion Therapists Participating in Wisconsin Trauma Project a Year-Long Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Training Program

The State of Wisconsin has launched it's Trauma Project, a training program designed to develop a statewide embedded system of trauma informed care for children and families involved in the Child Welfare System. Training is provided in a 3-Tiered fashion: Tier 1=therapists and their clinical supervisors, Tier 2=social workers and their supervisors, foster care providers and biological parents, Tier 3=community stakeholders identified by each county participating in the training program (e.g., school personnel, law enforcement, judges and attorneys, physicians).

Orion clinicians have been invited by Green, Iowa and Lafayette counties to participate in the training protocol. 5 counties have pooled their resources to bring the training to their communities (Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Grant, Crawford), the first time a consortium of this size has been formed to participate in the training. Orion clinicians join with 23 other therapists for 5 face to face training days and bi-monthly remote case consultation calls throughout 2014.

Led by Jennifer Wilgocki, LCSW, a nationally certified trainer in TF-CBT and Wisconsin resident, Orion therapists are bringing this highly respected and effective evidence based treatment modality to both outpatient and in-home clients in southern Wisconsin. Our team of clinicians is honored to be participating in this valuable training opportunity and excited to be teaming with our county partners and community stakeholders to enhance the provision of services and quality of care offered to the children and families we serve.
