For the second year in a row, Orion therapists have been selected to participate in a year long training program increasing skill development in the implementation of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The training is available through the Wisconsin Trauma Project, a State initiative targeting children, youth and families involved in the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice system. In 2014, six Orion clinicians completed the training as guests of Iowa, Green and Lafayette counties. In 2015, four Orion therapists are participating in the training as guests of Rock County Human Services.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence based treatment modality used to treat children who have experienced trauma. While the treatment targets symptom reduction in the child, the treatment enhances attachment with the child's primary caregiver as well as strengthens cohesion among all family members. Orion Family Services has been implementing TF-CBT since 2010.
